SCMA at Climb Smart 2014

The Southern California Mountaineers Association (SCMA) is proud to support Friends of Joshua Tree (FOJT) and Climb Smart again this year by serving up breakfast for the masses of attendees and volunteers on Saturday and Sunday morning. Come by to have some breakfast with us and ask about joining the SCMA.

Now in its 16th year, the Climb Smart Festival (October 17-19, 2014) includes: climbing clinics for climbers of all levels instructed by Certified PCGI and AMGA guides, camping, multimedia and athlete presentations, park projects, a vendor fair, the always popular raffle and auction, gourmet dinners Friday and Saturday, and the Real Rock Film Festival’s presentation of “Valley Uprising” on Friday night.  Don’t miss this opportunity to have a great time, improve your skills, and win some raffle prizes.  Registration for attendees is now open at http://fojtcs14.eventbrite.com

Climb Smart is a benefit event for Friends of Joshua Tree and Joshua Tree Search and Rescue (JOSAR). Additional information about the event can be found at www.friendsofjosh.org. Friends of Joshua Tree (FOJT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the historical tradition of climbing in Joshua Tree National Park. FOJT advocates, communicates, and encourages ethical and environmentally sound climbing practices, and works to shape park policy on climbing and climbing-related issues; acting as a liaison between the climbing community and the National Park service.
