Climbing the Oregon Cascades

For the last few years, Kathy and her climbing partner Daryn Dodge have made several summer trips to Oregon with crampons, ice axes, a rope, and harnesses packed.  They set out to climb all of the major peaks of the Cascade Range in Oregon including Mt Hood, Mt Washington, Three Fingered Jack, North Sister and Mt Jefferson.  Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the SCMA General meeting Kathy Rich will present a program on climbing the Oregon Cascade Volcanoes.

Kathy is an avid peak bagger, having climbed over 600 peaks in the western US and beyond in the last 10 years.  She has been a member of the SCMA since 2010 and is also a leader for the Sierra Peaks and Desert Peaks Sections of the Sierra Club and the California Mountaineering Club (CMC).  Come enjoy Kathy’s stories and photos, and start planning your own Cascades trip.

The meeting will be held at the auditorium of the Griffith Park Ranger Headquarters in Griffith Park, 4730 Crystal Springs Drive, Los Angeles. The meeting begins at 7:30 PM with the presentation after some brief general club business. There is no cost to attend and members as well as non-members are always welcome to come and see what the SCMA is all about.
