For Tony Yeary the climbing is only half the objective; capturing beautiful images while participating in the climbs is the other half. Tuesday, May 13, 2014 Tony Yeary will be giving a presentation featuring images from over four decades of climbing and mountaineering adventures. Come out and view beautiful images, as well as get a few tips for your own adventure photography.
A SoCal native, Tony started climbing locally in the 70s at Mt. Rubidoux, Joshua Tree, Tahquitz, and Suicide Rocks. His love of climbing and photography quickly expanded his adventures to Yosemite, Needles, the High Sierras, the Cascades, Mexico, Canada and South America. More recently Tony has made repeated trips to the Peruvian Andes, with many climbs in the Cordillera Blanca.
In addition to being a long time SCMA member, Tony is also a long time member and current Co-Chair for the Southwest Section of the American Alpine Club. When he isn’t out enjoying the outdoors and capturing images, you can find Tony spending time with his friends and family or working as a climbing/camping specialist at the Arcadia REI store.
The meeting will be at the auditorium of the Griffith Park Ranger Headquarters in Griffith Park, 4730 Crystal Springs Drive, Los Angeles. The meeting starts at 7:30 PM with some brief general club business followed by the presentation. There is no cost to attend and members as well as non-members are always welcome to come and see what the SCMA is all about.
